How To Change The Blade In A Cricut

So I'll outset off with some honesty- this isn't a characteristic from Cricut that I employ oft. I have used information technology a few times in projects I've created over the past few years but because how much I use my machine? It's pretty rarely used. Since I love my hand lettering– I don't apply it for things I think that it's most used for. Like addressing an envelope, or writing someones proper noun in a cute script. In this video and blog post, I go through how to put together a print and cut file using a Cricut epitome and Cricut Writing Font, I cover how to letter on a surface that is not a cut file (ie. an envelope or pennant), how cutting files transfer to depict files, and how to dissever a file into multiple colours. What is the Cricut Depict Tool?

Cricut machines take ii clamps for tools- one for a blade style tool (Clamp B) and one for a pen style tool (Clench A). But… the spacing! This kills me! The auto spaces the letters so that it tin can cutting them individually. Which, again, is peachy in theory… only so you'd need to place each letter of the alphabet individually on your design to get a great kerning dorsum. They do give you the power to adapt the spacing of your messages, but specifically with script fonts where the pb in needs to attach to the previous letter… it'southward obvious these aren't spaced out evenly, as adjusting the font spacing doesn't fully correct the effect. You can come across this very obviously as I play with fonts on my envelope design.

What fonts can yous utilize with the describe tool? Cricut has specific fonts called 'writing' fonts that are meant for the Cricut describe tool and typically are but i line thick per alphabetic character. Y'all can filter by them or you tin select the font yous dear and pick the 'draw' line type from the drop downward menu to run into what it translates like as a drawn font.

Do you need to select the right pen and paper in Cricut Design Space?

Can you use a Cut File for the Describe Tool

The matter is, y'all can do whatever you want with Cricut. Just some things just await nicer and are easier. Ha! And so Yeah yous can totally use a Cricut cut file for draw. But information technology will just alter the cut lines to draw lines. Which is oft great if y'all take a layered cut file but I shared a couple examples in the video where you lot tin see… it's non that great. If yous take a thinner pattern that looks similar a describe design merely is a cut file? You're going to double up each of your lines.

You can use the 'profile' tool (lesser of the layer panel) to turn off some of those lines, just it might not terminate up looking how you'd similar (as in my example). I did do this for my 'Bee Kind' Pennant though and loved the look of simply the outline of the bee. Then it can work out… but information technology also can not. Yous'll have to play with your specific design to determine for yourself.

How to Separate a Cricut Design Into Different Colors
